About Dr. Politzer
For fellowship-trained hip and knee replacement specialist Carey Politzer, M.D., improving painful joints is his passion. His focus is treating hip and knee arthritis. “What I love most about this work is that I can help make people significantly better. I see people who struggle to walk around the block and then return them to their favorite hiking trail or back to the links. That is my motivation,” Dr. Politzer said.
Upon graduating with his medical degree at Duke University, Dr. Politzer completed his postgraduate residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of California San Diego. Dedicated to advancing his skills, Dr. Politzer also completed a fellowship in hip and knee replacement at the prestigious University of California San Francisco, where he trained under world-renowned joint reconstruction surgeons and performed complex primary and revision surgeries using cutting-edge minimally invasive techniques.
Dr. Politzer approaches each patient individually and spends quality time with each patient to understand their specific goals. He focuses on restoring his patients to a higher level of function as safely and expeditiously as possible, treating everyone how he would treat his own family members.
When Dr. Politzer’s not at work, you’ll find him spending time with his wife Michelle and black lab Naomi, usually outside. He tries to stay as active as possible, and he enjoys hiking, running, cooking, and exploring new places, near and far.
